I received an unsolicited email (see it after my comment) from World Wide Art Books Inc. This company publishes art books under the titles International Contemporary Masters, Current Masters and Important World Artists. This publisher “selects” and “approves” artists for their books mainly by sending unsolicited emails. In the email below, WWAB claimed they contacted me previously and they saw my artwork on a website for an artist organization that I am a member of which both claims are false. I believe “Specto Art Space” holds “call for entry” events and never has actual exhibitions. I applied for a show and didn’t get in, which is okay… BUT they have yet to announce show dates, winners of their call for entries, or any updated information on their website. A friend of mine in the area says the gallery doesn’t exist, or in their defense, may just not be up and running yet. I was so excited to be accepted to be accepted to the Arctic Circle Residency and the geography of the trip is very beautiful. However, there were so many things wrong that I wanted to let others know. Europartfair 2021

Europartfair is not really a scam but a fair where artists can pay for their own stand. The quality is not good. Definitely not worth it. The only one making money here is the organization. I was approached via email by 'Caterina Gallizia, Project Coordinator' of ITSLIQUID Group (noting that her email, as well as 'Luca Curci, Director' were gmail accounts, not itsliquid.com accounts), who said they were interested in showing my work during 'Contemporary Venice 14th Edition' in some palazzo. "The application proposal is free and there is a participation fee related to the number and dimensions of artworks selected, bla bla bla". I've been aware of these ever-so-slightly-above-board pay-to-play...

I have a similar story. They told me they had mold buildup and had to close after I paid almost $500 and never answered emails texts again. Not even the phone. I learned my lesson and left it as a loss. Thank you for sharing. I thought I was alone....
