  • Pashmin Art Gallery – Hamburg
Stay away from this gallery. They`´re a bunch of fraudsters, run by Nour Nouri. They promise you scccess, rip you off and then you never get it. All the exhibitions venues aren`´t recognized in the art world and bring nothing. Quite the opposite: they`´re just a source of stress. Artists who open their mounths there will be sued. If a work of art is ever sold, the artist never gets it. What Nour Nouri is...

Hello, I have just been selected for the next exhibition in Tokyo in 2026 and I came across this discussion. I found another artist who was also selected and I notified him by sending him this thread. Do you have any news of this Constantine and your works? I am going to Tokyo in January/February 2026, I am thinking that it might be good to go in person to notify the gallery of this type...

Hello I had a mail from this Constantine says that I'm selected for the next show in Tokyo. Imagine, my dream ! I was sooooo exiting but I saw all of your post so I don't know if it's a good idea to send my artistic work for this exhibition. Now I m super sad because I saw that this men is a huge scam. I will go to Tokyo in January and February 2026...

Can you tell me more about your experience? I am slated for a residency there in July 2025. Thanks!...
  • Thierry Goldberg Gallery does not pay his MFA artists
Not a new problem I showed with Ron Segev (& Claire Lematais) in 2006 when they opened their first gallery Sixtyseven in NYC. I had a solo in 2006. They sold 1/3 of the work. Reviewed by Ken Johnson in NYT. I never got a penny from the sales. Years of emails, phone calls, frustration. They told me I was ‘investing in the new space’ (Thierry Goldberg). I wish I had been more aggressive frankly. I...

I had exactly the same experience in Tokyo this June, I wish I had seen all your testimonials before. PLEASE keep writing negative reviews on their Google page, I feel terribly sad, humiliated and sorry for the artists that were exhibiting there and couldn't go (and might have never figured out what they were doing)....
  • Photographers should think twice about entering LensCulture
I submitted to them a few years ago and included two detail shots which are important to see in my work. I clearly labeled both as "Details". Whoever the juror(s) was they never read that or didn't even realize those were details, not the entire piece, and gave me a bad review on those two details. They never said a word about the rest of the series I had entered! Yikes!...
  • Colorida Gallery
Marcolino, Anne, Dario and Ribeiro are all fake names of Colorida staff. AVOID THIS "GALLERY" AT ALL COSTS - the more we get the word out, the sooner they will close. What a corruptible operation....
  • Photographers should think twice about entering LensCulture

That's not how the art world works. Sorry to inform you, but you were scammed. Educate yourself, read the whole thread and some others from these pages....
  • Superfine Art Fair
I exhibited in Miami a few years ago. Although the guys promote the fair extensively on social media, their business plan is to make money on the exhibitors. Unfortunately they do not have a good ground plan to drive traffic. They also charge admission which is a turn off for many casual attendees. Their email list doesn't reach art collectors....
  • Superfine Art Fair
I did two Superfine fairs, one in DC in 2023 and one in Savannah in 2024. Attendance in DC wasn't bad, In Savannah it was abysmal. Both fairs were fun, and I learned a lot (hadn't done a fair since 1983). However, with sales at the two fairs TOTALING $1600, I was more than $10,000 in the hole. I didn't expect to break even, seeing these fairs as an opportunity to learn, meet people and...

I have exhibited at the galleria Cael. I was cautious at first too because it sounded to good to be true. But I did my research and applied. My artwork was accepted and the exhibit was wonderful and made with lots of care. You could really see that the Gallery put their heart into this exhibit. The Gallery is very much real since I have bin there myself. However exhibiting does cost quite a bit...
  • Excellance art Gallery in Mirabella, Spain
I was contacted on my page, and after a conversation, I had some doubts about the gallery’s reach. I encourage fellow artists to remain curious but to conduct thorough research, ask specific questions, and seek feedback from others before engaging....
  • Context art gallery, Venice. AKA Marco Patrizio
He took 3 pieces of my work and I’ve wanted them back for years. He is the worst. He told me I would be in a show in Milan and I flew over for the show. Then he told me there was a bacteria outbreak and my show was cancelled but he would be in Switzerland and I could come to that show there. I did and I met him and he did not have...
  • Van der Plas Gallery
Do not apply to this gallery. They make a big deal about their New York "exposure" opportunity and I got suckered to pay $150 to display a small drypoint print. After failing to sell, they added insult by losing the return paperwork for the return shipment. They didn't even apologize. I had to pay the shipping company to recreate the paperwork and send it to New York, so the incompetent gallery may ship the print...
  • ITSLIQUID GROUP
Thank you everyone for your sharing. I’ve also received the same email and was doing some research to understand their credibility. Hopefully soon enough they won’t be able to scam anyone because they’ll be too exposed...

How did that go? like i see on instagram that some people have their art there so does he just scam some of us and let other people make money? or how does this work lol...
Banditto gallery

Likewise I received an invitation from Roy Ockers of Banditto GAllery, to their artist residency in Tuscany. I came across the ‘gallery’ on Linked In, but had reservations about the validity of their invitation… and now their fee is increased to €49. Glad to hear others comments regarding this ‘gallery’ and sorry that some have lost money applying for the residency.

Is Sonia Monti Gallery trustworthy?

I have received an invitation from Galerie Sonia Monti from Paris, to participate to a collective show over a whole year at no cost, other than the shipping of the artworks at the Gallery on the announced day. The invitation was kinda “too-nice-to-be-true”. Read the contract several times and could not find any flaws to it. Shipped the works and then received a message from a company called “Art Now Défiscalisation”, stating that in order my artworks to be showcased at the Sonia Monti Gallery and allegedly presented to some art-buyer companies, I was to pay a “membership” worth 950…

Sonia Monti Galerie in Paris

I got contacted by email saying that “a collector recommended my work” and they wanted me to sign a contract right away without even a phone call. I also had to subscribe to a platform…and they promiss an interview with a journalist. they told the same thing to a friend of mine. many red flags saying it’s a vanity gallery no website, ZERO press, no follow up I believe they make money with the platform they advertise as a must have. their text translated from french: Following current events we offer a collaboration without prior appointment. We specify that the…

Hi, A Jazz Jade from the emerging artist platform reached out to me asking if I wanted to join their platform for 29.99. We had a call and it seemed as if I was going to get lots of exposure for my art and be provided a service (including 24 hour pa). After they created an initial web page for me I had no responses to any other contact and they would not make any canes to y webpage. The webpage that was advertised to me indicated that it would be easily accessible however my webpage was virtually unfindable. Since…

Oscar Arran art dealer gallerist

Various galleries have opened and closed with Oscar Seran in Saint Germaine and Place des Vosges, Paris. He sometimas works within a gallery group sliding across associate galleries. The names change but the deal remains the same; unpaid sales and disappeared works, then his disappearance act until the coast is clear and he starts all over again.

Inigo Philbrick

I was friends with Inigo for a couple of years, around 2008/2010, until I was in London. He was one of those friends/acquaintances that you see once in a while and have cool conversations with. I was an arts student at the time, and was having a lot of trouble at my conservative school, and he helped me, read the letters from the school, and gave me some of the best advice I had received on it. I remember I was going to Italy for a short period of time, and he asked if I could look into a wallet…

Scam Starvd Art Gallery Singapore

This gallery hits all the marks of a Scam – with connections to an artist (?) Andrew Paton/Leddy (https://www.artpaton.online) who claims to be a graduate of the esteemed Julian Ashton Art School in Sydney. A lie. A man with a long history of damaging artists, and many techniques that artists would be advised to brush up on to avoid his scams, or similar scams by other dubious galleries: https://www.facebook.com/photo?fbid=10221322138755326&set=a.1141896519955. Artists have reported unpleasant dealings with Starvd Art plus previous galleries.
