Stay away from this gallery. They`´re a bunch of fraudsters, run by Nour Nouri. They promise you scccess, rip you off and then you never get it. All the exhibitions venues aren`´t recognized in the art world and bring nothing. Quite the opposite: they`´re just a source of stress. Artists who open their mounths there will be sued. If a work of art is ever sold, the artist never gets it. What Nour Nouri is...

Hello, I have just been selected for the next exhibition in Tokyo in 2026 and I came across this discussion. I found another artist who was also selected and I notified him by sending him this thread. Do you have any news of this Constantine and your works? I am going to Tokyo in January/February 2026, I am thinking that it might be good to go in person to notify the gallery of this type...

Hello I had a mail from this Constantine says that I'm selected for the next show in Tokyo. Imagine, my dream ! I was sooooo exiting but I saw all of your post so I don't know if it's a good idea to send my artistic work for this exhibition. Now I m super sad because I saw that this men is a huge scam. I will go to Tokyo in January and February 2026...

Can you tell me more about your experience? I am slated for a residency there in July 2025. Thanks!...
  • Thierry Goldberg Gallery does not pay his MFA artists
Not a new problem I showed with Ron Segev (& Claire Lematais) in 2006 when they opened their first gallery Sixtyseven in NYC. I had a solo in 2006. They sold 1/3 of the work. Reviewed by Ken Johnson in NYT. I never got a penny from the sales. Years of emails, phone calls, frustration. They told me I was ‘investing in the new space’ (Thierry Goldberg). I wish I had been more aggressive frankly. I...

No they don't lie because I've taken part many times and visited. You are clearly one of the nasty exhibitors and they are glad you're gone!...

I had exactly the same experience in Tokyo this June, I wish I had seen all your testimonials before. PLEASE keep writing negative reviews on their Google page, I feel terribly sad, humiliated and sorry for the artists that were exhibiting there and couldn't go (and might have never figured out what they were doing)....
  • Photographers should think twice about entering LensCulture
I submitted to them a few years ago and included two detail shots which are important to see in my work. I clearly labeled both as "Details". Whoever the juror(s) was they never read that or didn't even realize those were details, not the entire piece, and gave me a bad review on those two details. They never said a word about the rest of the series I had entered! Yikes!...
  • Colorida Gallery
Marcolino, Anne, Dario and Ribeiro are all fake names of Colorida staff. AVOID THIS "GALLERY" AT ALL COSTS - the more we get the word out, the sooner they will close. What a corruptible operation....

  • Superfine Art Fair
I exhibited in Miami a few years ago. Although the guys promote the fair extensively on social media, their business plan is to make money on the exhibitors. Unfortunately they do not have a good ground plan to drive traffic. They also charge admission which is a turn off for many casual attendees. Their email list doesn't reach art collectors....
  • Superfine Art Fair
I did two Superfine fairs, one in DC in 2023 and one in Savannah in 2024. Attendance in DC wasn't bad, In Savannah it was abysmal. Both fairs were fun, and I learned a lot (hadn't done a fair since 1983). However, with sales at the two fairs TOTALING $1600, I was more than $10,000 in the hole. I didn't expect to break even, seeing these fairs as an opportunity to learn, meet people and...

I have exhibited at the galleria Cael. I was cautious at first too because it sounded to good to be true. But I did my research and applied. My artwork was accepted and the exhibit was wonderful and made with lots of care. You could really see that the Gallery put their heart into this exhibit. The Gallery is very much real since I have bin there myself. However exhibiting does cost quite a bit...
  • Excellance art Gallery in Mirabella, Spain

  • Context art gallery, Venice. AKA Marco Patrizio
He took 3 pieces of my work and I’ve wanted them back for years. He is the worst. He told me I would be in a show in Milan and I flew over for the show. Then he told me there was a bacteria outbreak and my show was cancelled but he would be in Switzerland and I could come to that show there. I did and I met him and he did not have...
  • Van der Plas Gallery
Do not apply to this gallery. They make a big deal about their New York "exposure" opportunity and I got suckered to pay $150 to display a small drypoint print. After failing to sell, they added insult by losing the return paperwork for the return shipment. They didn't even apologize. I had to pay the shipping company to recreate the paperwork and send it to New York, so the incompetent gallery may ship the print...
  • ITSLIQUID GROUP

Inigo Philbrick in the mid to late 2000s

I met Inigo Philbrick in the mid 2000s, at a Salon, which his ex landlord and ex boss had organized together. I remember when Inigo spoke, he described so vividly this image of three nuns by the sea (I think it was a painting he had seen), I can still recall the images he created with his description. Anyways. He was very young and, you could tell immediately that he was very bright. Over the following 3, 4 years I hang out with him semi-randomly. Meaning we’d exchange an email once in a while and maybe meet two, three, four…

PAKS Gallery and MAMAG Museum invite to exhibit at Cannes Film Festival, Art Basel Week and Carrousel du Louvre

I recently received an email from the curator Heinz Playner telling me their curator team was impressed by my work. They sent an invitation and an offer to exhibit my art in 2022 at the MAMAG Modern Art Museum in Austria. Also that the Paks gallery would like to represent me and an offer to participate in the International Fine Biennale Basel, ART BASEL ART WEEK IN 2023, ALSO THE CANNES fILM fESTIVAL, and also in the Carrousel du Louvre. Has anyone been involved with the PAKS Gallery in Vienna or the MAMAG Museum with such an offer? What was…

ITSLIQUID GROUP

I came here looking for reviews, info. It is very expensive! But I think a lot of people don’t know how expos work, expos are paid by galleries & artists to have a space in a warehouse/ large conference space etc. Expos cost money, the organizers have to pay spaces, even if they make deals with hotels or whatever, they have expenses of marketing, rentals, promotion, printed materials. It’s not going to be free, and they can get away from not disclosing upfront the cost because it’s understood that to take part in an art fair/expo, you pay the space/…

I had one exhibition in Venice and it all looked nice. After that, they asked me if I would join another one for a discount price. I said yes, but later they charge me 50% more. After that, I decided to go and take a look, how this event looks like. And it was pitiful; I will not say, they put pictures nice and the place is beautiful. But there were just a few people at the exhibition and I guess there were even fewer visitors. I know it is not a great situation for art, but they could say…

Alert: European Cultural Center Scam

The European Cultural Center is contacting artists and asking them to pay them 15000 Euro to participate in one of their exhibitions, and is also not offering to pay for transportation of artwork. They do no fundraising and offer no financial assistance for the individual artists they contact. All of the listed sponsors on their website are not real, and the ECC does not raise money for artists. Artists themselves are being asked to do the fundraising on the behalf of the ECC, and the ECC does not have a dedicated fundraiser. They expect the artists they invite to fundraise…

Contemporary Art Curator (Magazine)

I must strongly advice against this. I bought an award from them with the link I got. At the same time an artist who doesn’t like me sent an email to the magazine advicing them not to accept my payment because of a social media conversation where I told that this award can be bought and it’s nothing but a vanity gallery. This conversation took place in a closed Facebook group. The magazine didn´t except my purchase, I got refunded and now the magazine is threatening me with a lawyer for the things I have said in that Facebook group.…

Excellance art Gallery in Mirabella, Spain

I received an Instagram message from @excellanceartgallery from Guiseppe Carnevale. He then called me- I did ask him to- after he went to my website and saw my work. A very congenial fellow I must say- and he offered me a solo show in Spain with up to 20 paintings, one painting in a show in Paris, one painting in a show in Monte Carlo, and two paintings in a show in Porto Banos, Spain. Plus a single page in a prominent European Art Magazine. And the package price is 15,500 Euros….. I haven’t seen him or the gallery listed…

This has to be a scam

I subscribed to their EAP site after an approach from their agent. I then cancelled as I found their website impenetrable and their customer service non-existent. Now, 9 months later, they have made an unauthorised withdrawal from my account.
