    Not a new problem I showed with Ron Segev (& Claire Lematais) in 2006 when they opened their first gallery Sixtyseven in NYC. I had a solo in 2006. They sold 1/3 of the work. PLEASE keep writing negative reviews on their Google page, I feel terribly sad, humiliated and sorry for the artists that were exhibiting there and couldn't go (and might have never figured out what they were doing)....

    I submitted to them a few years ago and included two detail shots which are important to see in my work. I clearly labeled both as "Details". Whoever the juror(s) was they never read that or didn't even realize those were details, not the entire piece, and gave me a bad review on those two details. They never said a word about the rest of the series I had entered! Yikes!...

    I exhibited in Miami a few years ago. Although the guys promote the fair extensively on social media, their business plan is to make money on the exhibitors. Unfortunately they do not have a good ground plan to drive traffic. They also charge admission which is a turn off for many casual attendees. Their email list doesn't reach art collectors....

    Do not apply to this gallery. They make a big deal about their New York "exposure" opportunity and I got suckered to pay $150 to display a small drypoint print. After failing to sell, they added insult by losing the return paperwork for the return shipment. They didn't even apologize. I had to pay the shipping company to recreate the paperwork and send it to New York, so the incompetent gallery may ship the print...

NYA Gallery, NYA ART Center, Townley Studio

NYA Gallery keeps emailing me and contacting me through Instagram. Email is from NYAFAIR, TriBeCa, says there located at 7 Franklin Place, New York, NY. Seems fishy to me. I googled their curatorial fee and saw fees from $249 to $150 (if art is accepted), plus artist is responsible for shipping up and back. Anyone know anything? We are a group of artists who have worked with Cydonia Gallery in Dallas, TX. (www.cydoniagallery.com). The gallery has changed locations several times but is still located in Dallas at this time. We cannot overemphasize this: Please do not work with this gallery and stay as far away from her as you can. She has several lawsuits coming her way but she also knows that it is expensive and potentially risky to sue and not every artist is in a position to do so. This woman is dangerous and needs to be called out as such.

Hi, I would like to report attitude of Nude Tin Can gallery from St Albans, UK. It’s a scam! The owner sells works of artists and never pays them! One fellow artist had to chase her 6 months, she never responded her on the phone and emails. She rents artworks of artists to the hotels and restaurants and she doesn’t pay to artists for that either.! They ruined my 10.000 euros worth artworks and they doesn’t want to resolve it in a proper way despite our contract. They were always inventing things, one of them was that they never agreed…

Creative Debuts

I had a bad experience with Creative Debuts and not just me but two of my artist friends. They damaged some work and blamed it on their friend who they were no longer talking to, they also lost two pieces. I ended up sending them an invoice but not for the sale price as I didn’t think they would pay as they weren’t accepting responsibility, so they ended up paying for the cost price of prints. My friends also had work lost and damaged without any compensation. Artwork gets exhibited in offices across London and the artists receive no money.…
