NFT scam mintbot.art

I already posted about another nft scam, but this is a similar scam. There are several fake accounts on Instagram that approach artists and ask them to sell their art as nfts. They insist using fake nft sites like mintbot.art. It’s a scam to make artists pay for gas fees. Because they are not real nft sites, you can’t really sell your art there. Don’t go to Arquetopia

This is a very poor excuse for a residency. The physical plant: sewage drains in the kitchen, under dining table. Caps move off the drains routinely. Stench. No hot water. (5 hour presentation on arrival. Rules. Rules. Rules. Most of them-nonsense Map lesson. Host never checked in with any of us for the duration (4 weeks). He avoided the residents at all cost.) No common meeting place. Library locked-inaccessible. No place to sit outside together in camaraderie. Caged birds. Cat piss smell on walkways. Roy’s Art Fair – A complete waste of time and money

Sadly I participated as an artist during last year’s Roys Art Fair in London. Overall I had a very disappointing experience with no sales, no one around me seemed to have sold also. Traffic was not great, the venue was at the most, extremely average. The management and owner is an artist who used the funds to pay for his participation at The Other Art fair and promote his art so clearly there is a conflict of interest and I would advise fellow artists to avoid them.

The Sedona Arts Center – not illegal, but very unethical

Last Fall I submitted and got one piece juried into an exhibition at what I thought was a prestigious exhibition space at a perceived ‘arts destination,’ The Sedona Arts Center in Sedona, Arizona. I paid a thirty dollar entry free via Call For Entry. Since Sedona is only an hour away from my studio delivering the artwork to the venue wasn’t expensive or too time consuming. Galleria Huuto

I was looking for exhibition opportunities in Nordic countries and found out a gallery in Helsinki, Galleria Huuto, apparently is “an independent artist run collective” managing three spaces and receiving funding from the Finnish Ministry of Education and Culture, however it charges fees from 500€ up to 1500€ for a three week exhibition period. If you’re approached by “Gallerist” Marco Antonio Patrizio – Run!

It’s been a few years now. I was approached by italian gallerist Marco Antonio Patrizio who ran his gallery from Padua not far from Venice. Apparently he found me on Instagram. Besides running this gallery Mr Patrizio also attended various art exhibitions in different cities throughout Italy. Yaddo

Hi there, I was invited to undertake a 6 week residency at www.yaddo.org earlier this year. From my understanding it is one of the most prestigious residencies in the US. I was actually awarded a residency in 2020 but it was postponed due to the pandemic and so they reached out to me earlier in the year to move it to this spring. I also must commend them for the further support they offered me, making a contribution to my flight costs from Ireland. Statement for Artists who have been scammed by #emergingartistplatform to circulate

Artists, have you been approached by the #emergingartistplatform run by #Hansford&Sons? It appears to be a scam. There are two sides to this group a ‘light’ facade with a dark background. There is a small leased gallery in Milton Keynes called Hansford & Sons, that runs exhibitions there and virtually, but even there the selection process appears to be random. Artists are approached usually via Instagram and invited to display work on the #emergingartistplatform. my experience with EAP

Hello everybody! first of all: thank you very much for this chat! i have the same problems. the contact was good at the beginning, all my emails were answered – until the time I paid the fee. Suddenly nobody contacted me anymore. I contacted my bank today to get the money back. I will also file a complaint. It cannot be that artists are exploited to make money. I can only advise everyone against doing business with EAP.
