DAC Concepts Miami Florida

Please I need to hear any experiences you have had with DAC Concepts Miami, Florida. I was approached and told that if I pay a fee of $350 I could exhibit a 10×10 inch artwork at Design+ at the Hyatt Regency but there is no mention of Design+ on the Internet and when I went into the webpage of the hotel there is no mention of this event either. The person who contacted me was Maria Apostolidis and she said they sell art online and also in Dubai, London, Berlin and China. Maria Apostolidis Founder | Owner d | a…

Fountain Hills, Az

RUN! Upon arrival to this 3 day “Fine Art Fair” (November 8,9 and 10th, 2019), there were no indications for the direction of the show (the map they sent was missing the other half of the directions) or where to set up. We turned for an hour before finally finding a volunteer who knew something: turn right, turn right, and turn right….only to end in a 20 car pile up. Am I exaggerating, no not even a little bit. If the getting your truck through did not piss you off then maybe having to through your things quickly on the…

NYA Gallery, NYA ART Center, Townley Studio

NYA Gallery keeps emailing me and contacting me through Instagram. Email is from NYAFAIR, TriBeCa, says there located at 7 Franklin Place, New York, NY. Seems fishy to me. I googled their curatorial fee and saw fees from $249 to $150 (if art is accepted), plus artist is responsible for shipping up and back. Anyone know anything? Thanks!   (NYA has many names, they should all be listed. They seem to re-brand every few months. Most recent is NYA ART Center, and the owner, Shane Townley also runs something under the same address Townley Studio. For $250 per painting per…

Raw Artists

Pay-to-play, all the way for this art-fair scam. Artists are required to sell 20 tickets at $15-$20 each to show their work. Any unsold tickets are the responsibility of the artist to pay for if they want their work shown. These shindigs usually include live music (bands who are lured into participating with the same ticket-selling scheme). So RAW offers a club (or other venue) owner free entertainment for the use of their venue for this “event”. The venues can charge a cover, and charge as they normally would for drinks, etc. and keep the profits, so they love the…

Liquid Group

A reader posted “I would consider adding an entry for It’s Liquid Group run by Luca Curci. Mr Curci would typically put out open calls to artists exhibit works as part of a festival with no mention of a entry/ submission or participation fee. Artists would send work to be considered for inclusion and they would often receive a response from Mr Curci, asking for a fee ranging from €50 to €200 (sometimes even more) for each work that has been submitted. Such fees are never mentioned in the original open call. I have included some links below which go…
