The Emerging Artist Platform

Hi all,

Does anyone have experience of the UK based Emerging Artist Platform sponsored by Hansford & Sons Fine Art? It seems to me there is something seriously wrong with this organization. My experience so far has been awful. Basically they have taken the money from my collectors but then they fail to organize the shipping. They are very hard to reach even with email. The delay has been a month now. I have asked them to call me but they haven’t so far. The whole business seems to be very unprofessional if it’s not a scam.

Please, share your experiences.

I am literally a hair’s breadth away from signing with these people. But I am concerned about all the negative reports. So I think I will pass.
I’ve been posting on Instagram for a few months now. The one thing that makes me feel dispirited is getting messages claiming to be interested in my work which turn out to be fake. So, maybe no money spent but depressing for that reason that it’s fake.
    thanks for the caveats,

Every time I thought the EAP was dodgey I was reassured. I recently sold a painting and a month later the website said it was still available. I only know it had been sold because the person who purchased it contacted me curious as to why it had not been received. Both myself and the buyer has been able to get answers as to what to do next. I have received no money, no email, nothing and I have someone who is now hundreds of dollars out of pocket . Side note they have since requested a refund but to no avail. As the artist I feel extremely horrible

This is my experience too. It is horrible to hear that they took the money and the buyer hasn’t heard from them since.

EAP’s “service” just does not work. I feel betrayed that their business, which they advertise to be “big” and “professional”, is just a bunch of amateur students doing posts in IG and a tiny room they call their gallery. The picture they give about their business is far from what it actually is.

I was approached by Lauren on Instagram multiple times about selling my art through their online platform l I thought I had already researched the EAP and went ahead and paid the $49.99. Well now I cannot get in touch with Lauren or this person named Jazz.. I never got an email that confirm payment. That’s what tipped me off that something seemed shady. Lauren informed me that payment was received….and she could send me an invoice.
I’ve directly emailed & sent an online chat message to the Hanford & Sons website. Nothing.
I did submit a few pics of my work & paid the $49.99….but that’s as far as I got. Now I come across this webpage sharing the same complaints. Ugh 😣. Planning to have my credit card company deal with getting reimbursed for services not received. I feel like a fool.

    Hello,

I would like to tell you about my experiences with EAP.

First of all, don’t do business with this company!

I can only agree with the previous speakers. The contact and behavior is impeccable – until you pay the fee.

Lauren contacted me at the beginning. Like you, I initially thought how good the offer of this gallery is. Especially in contrast to all the other galleries out there.

After paying the fee, however, I was unable to reach Lauren. All of my emails and Instagram messages went unanswered. I also tried to contact the company through other emails. I quickly saw that on Instagram more and more complaints from other artists were collecting in the comments under the pictures that EAP published. Lauren didn’t answer them either, but quickly deleted the comments so as not to look bad.

Only when I threatened to file a report with the police did she promptly write back to me. In the meantime I found this page here – unfortunately a bit too late for me.
I also confronted EAP with the link to that page. I wanted EAP to see that their plan is not working and that more and more people are complaining. EAP’s explanation was that this page is being written by only one person – a liar named Anonymous. LOL.

I was supposed to contact Jazz and informed EAP at the same time that I no longer wanted my site to be published by them because I didn’t want to ruin my name. In response, my art promptly went online. I complained because my request was again not granted. Again no answer. As an aside, it should be mentioned that you could only find my art on the site if you explicitly entered my name.

Contact with jazz ended with her insulting me as a stupid liar. This woman represents a company! I have never experienced such unprinting behavior by a company.

Please please save yourself the hassle and look for a professional company.

    best regards

      SO UNPROFESSIONAL!!!

It is unbelievably immature and unprofessional how the group of young ladies are now all fuzzing and mocking in the IG about how they really aren’t fake people after all. They are basically making fun of the people who have been concerned FOR REASON for losing their money and not receiving what has been promised. So unprofessional!

The EAP is really missing the point of the whole criticism that has been presented here and elsewhere. The points of the criticism were that

      1. the EAP and it’s representatives have offered very poor customer service if any by not responding to emails or requests for phone calls which has OBVIOUSLY cost distrust and doubts among the artists and the buyers. They have well earned all the criticism they are getting.
      2. they have attacked verbally over artists by blaming them to be “liars”, “twisted” etc. and have even then spread the word! We have all seen the emails in this chat.
      3. they (Jazz) have behaved abusively, and bullied her customers in her emails (you can check out the emails in this chat).
      4. they (Jazz) have not taken any responsibility what so ever for her disgusting behavior towards people and serious lack of service what people have paid for.
      5. The EAP and the organization behind it (The Hansford and Sons fine Art) is not something they are telling it to be. It is run buy amateurs and they aren’t anywhere close being well known professionals or “leading specialists”. They are giving a false picture about who they are.
      6. People are angry because they feel cheated and scammed.

This all pisses people off! People are not writing these reviews for fun. If everything was great you wouldn’t be reading this, right?

It is obvious that the EAP isn’t taking seriously the feedback they have been given and don’t give a damn about their concerned customers. Normal people would apologize and try to do better next time.

In my educated opinion The EAP is not giving you anything you wouldn’t get somewhere else and you don’t need them to have your career flying. Do your homework, do a very thorough background check and work only with true professionals. These people don’t belong to that group.

        Hey,

Thanks for the advise. How long were you on the platform? These comments are really interesting… seems to be a mixture of reviews, I am really unsure what to do… could you elaborate on the scam thing? I see the comments that have been posted but I think they are real? I’m not sure if this blog is some hateful people or if it’s genuine? Please do elaborate

        A concerned artist

          Hi,

this is a homepage for people who want to find out more about galleries in advance. We share our opinions and, above all, our experiences here. this should be a warning to all artists who are contacted by EAP.

I personally do not write my experiences in here for any hateful reason. I was simply fooled by this company.

As a young artist you are unfortunately a bit clueless and maybe a bit naive. At least that’s how I felt. i got involved in the cooperation because i thought EAP would be able to offer me something that i cannot achieve myself. unfortunately that turned out to be untrue.

the company didn’t do anything for me. everything that is written about the artists on the homepage is created by the artists and not the employees of EAP. all they have to do is click copy / paste and that’s it.

I agree with the previous speaker – inform yourself well about this gallery and do not unsuspectingly bind yourself and your name to any company! this chat should serve as an aid!

i have had much better experiences with keeping myself fully on instagram and etsy as a sales platform. there you have everything in your own hands and you will quickly gain reach if you invest some time – not money!

          best regards

          • Anonymous

But the thing for me is I do see positive feedback from artists on the site, I don’t think I’m naive, I’m just confused. How can there be such contrasting opinions? I still feel as if questions are unanswered… how long were you on the platform? When you say they didn’t do anything for you what do you mean? You didn’t sell a painting or you didn’t get the exposure that they talk about? It’s not a huge amount of money to part with but I don’t want to mess up my reputation ya know. Any answers welcome

          • Anonymous

I have already presented my experiences in a long text above.

I paid the money and from then on I couldn’t reach anyone. My site didn’t go online even after weeks, although I was assured that it would happen within two weeks.

It wasn’t until I threatened EAP to make the whole story public that they finally got in touch very quickly. I had to be insulted and was called a liar. I haven’t got my money back until today.

I’m not here to influence people. I am here to share my story. You can do whatever you want with it. If you are impressed by the side and can take away more positives than negatives, you have to make your own experiences.

            Wishing you all the best!

          • Anonymous

ps. to go back to the issue of money: it’s not about whether it’s 30 pounds or 300. it’s about you paying for a promised service. if this is not done, it is legally fraudulent. In addition, one must not forget that your art is represented by someone who has cheated some people out of his money and that this gallery will also stand for teh artist’s name.

          • Anonymous

I can only agree with the previous comments. Reading this I’m reassured that I am not alone with this very odd experience with the EAP.

I also got a harassing email from the EAP/Jazz after she had discovered this chat. She threatened to take legal actions towards me because I had told here about my (and my collectors’) experience with the EAP. The direct quote is:

“Your libellous and slanderous comments online are a cause for concern and it is at this stage we are wondering whether to take legal action against you. I can confirm that we will be ceasing our business relationship with yourself and deleting your subscription with immediate effect.”

Threatening with legal actions is, to be honest, quite amusing to me. However it tells a lot about this person and her anger management issues. Therefore I decided to quit all the interactions with the EAP. I simply don’t do business or waist my time with this kind of person.

Bullying people (calling people names and such) is absolute no go for me. Based on the stories written on this platform I personally draw the line here.
I have zero tolerance for bullying.

As a one last thing I want to share that one other representative from the EAP that originally invited me, a girl called Misha, has always been very nice and polite to me. And I appreciate that.

I decided to share my experience here so the reader can make informative decision considering the EAP. Take care you all.

Who else feels like they have been verbally abused by Jazz Jade! It’s despicable how she talks to you and tries to make you feel like your the one in the wrong. I wonder how she sleeps at night knowing that her entire existence is about how she can con you out of money and then verbally beat you up when you decide you have had enough. Karma is going to get this woman! I just wish there was a way to shut Jazz down on Instagram so she cannot do anymore damage to emerging artists.
        PLEASE STAT AWAY FROM EAP!!!

        • Anonymous

Yes Jazz was also super abusive to me and tried saying I was sexist. I asked a female friend to read the chain of messages for me and to be honest to me as to whether I was in any way being sexist and she said not at all. Jazz is clearly a person with a few issues and I hope she can figure them out and stop conning people and treating artists so badly

this is a forum that protects users identity, asking for instagram account will likely not get an answer. If the comments here seem of value use them, and if not disregard them.

      Hi

Lauren contacted me on instagram offering me the artist platform. I paid 50 pounds and did not recevie any kind of confirmation that I had paid. I explained untill I received confirmation of payment i wont be giving her my work or anything about me.

She kept explaining she is waiting for the accounts team to get back to her. After a while I asked for a refund and now she is waiting for the ceo to get back to her.

She will not process my refund

To me it looks like most the positive feedback here is fake and from someone behind EAP. Each time an artist has asked a person with positive feedback for a link to their page on EAP they have not supplied.

A genuine artist who had good feedback to provide would have nothing to hide

    Nice try EAP!

Does anyone have any further advice on how we can take this further I feel enough of us have been scammed and it would be great for them to deal with the consequences of treating artists like this

I wrote here a couple of days ago about being approached on Instagram by showcaserealart and being offered to be a part of EAP. After reading these comments, I started having doubts and expressed my concerns directly to the lady, who approached me on Instagram . She took them very seriously and we had a professional chat about it. There was nothing to worry about. I feel very excited to be a part of the Emerging Artist Platform. My beautiful page is all good and running and the link works. I am very grateful that I can share my art through this platform, surrounded by fantastic and professional people, and extraordinary works of other artists.
    Thank you.

I think it’s so reassuring to read this. I’m in the process of getting my page created, there was just one correction that the curator is fixing for me and I should go live tomorrow.
I’ve had nothing but great experiences and feedback so far with EAP and I was starting to worry after reading this.
I think it’s so easy to let the negative overcome the positives that a lot of artists seem to be having.
I’m excited to share the link to my page when it’s ready as well

  • Anonymous

Well, I was approached on Instagram by showcaserealart. I paid, and sent them my information with all the documents on August 11th. I was told it was going to take two weeks before the site is running and that I was going to be contacted if they have any questions. No one messaged me so far so maybe everything is ok.
I felt I was being rushed with making the decision about joining it, but I was super excited about it as well.
If nothing shows until 25th, I’ll call my bank, stop the transaction, and report scam.

I thought I’d share my experience because I’m quite new to all of this.
I signed up last month after being approached by a young girl called Lauren, great and chatty. I’ve had constant communication with her through email and Instagram and I had my page after I think it was about 14 days. It looks really great, and I’ve had exposure as well. I only went for the Basic package but hoping to upgrade to Premium next time. And I can’t believe it but I’ve sold a piece of work even though I’ve only been live for less than 2 weeks.

I’m not one for the Internet as you can probably tell but I just wanted to shed some positivity on this page.

      • Anonymous

Obviously someone from the Emerging artist platform-team.
I was cheated of my money too. the gallery has not been available for weeks .. unfortunately i didn’t have a very good feeling from the start .. i would have preferred to listen to it. I have now filed a complaint with the police and also contacted a friend who works for an online magazine and is very interested in this story..

        • Anonymous

I think too that this company is worth investigating for. I mean so many people have given their money out believing that they are working with bunch of hard core professionals and will be getting sales and exposure. Just by setting up a webpage for each individual does not deliver what has been promised and doesn’t not take away the fact that their background and knowledge isn’t what they tell it is. If this is true it is a scam, no doubt about it.

Someone should look into the “team” that has been introduced on The Hansford and Sons Fine Art website. I doubt they are real people working for this company. (Except Jazz who has been mentioned in this chat before and who is the only person I know from the EAP who has actually posted videos in IG with her own face). At least one of them is an actor not an art specialist. The people on the website don’t have individual contact information, not even an email address. Go check it out, people!

If you are “a leading specialist” on the market one would assume you have a team with the proper contact information on the website? You would find them in social media and they would post about this company? No email, no phone numbers, nothing.

I believe this company is scamming people to believe they are well known professionals on the field but they aren’t. Like someone said in this platform earlier it is most likely that just one or two people running this whole thing with multiple fake ids and made up story about having this well organized team of “ART FINANCE MANAGER”, “MARKETING & COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER”, “HEAD OF MIDDLE EASTERN MARKETS” etc.

Go see it yourself people! https://www.hansfordandsonsfineart.co.uk/ourteam

          • Anonymous

            I agree with you!
nobody from the “team” seems to be a real person. only one person is active as an actor on twitter. they don’t seem to be real people – the quality of the photos could just as easily have come from photoshop or been generated by other websites.
There is no LinkedIn entry, no Xing, no Facebook, no Instagram (besides the company account). Nothing about anyone. Also no other information about this gallery.
only “jazz jade” has been holding her face in the Instagram camera since today – probably as a reaction to this chat here.

thank you for the tip above! i have written to a few artists on instagram myself – no one has sold a picture here either and everyone complains the same …

I have been approached on Instagram by this company few weeks ago and felt something wrong. I told them first i would be happy to join the platform and since then, they literally harass me by e-mail and on instagram !! They told me to hurry to send them all the documents. I told them to calm down as i am working. When I ask them How they proceed the shipping, they told me i ask too many questions and do not to worry about !! Seriously ??
They told me that i should feel lucky to be part of this shit ! And then i start my research : who the hell is Jazz ?? She s using à fake Picture on instagram with an account named Léopard ?? Her team are two very young girls with fake profile pic ; they put blond californian girl pic to be more attractive !! Who is exactly behind this mess ???! That’s my question !!! I feel like they have some real artists for sure but when it comes to new one who are abroad, they behave weirdly !
And obviously im not alone !

How can these guys be a scam?

THEY HAVE A BRICKS AND MORTAR GALLERY

THERE IS A WEBSITE, INSTAGRAM PAGES THAT YOU CAN REFER TO AND SEE CONSISTENT ADVERTISING

EACH INDIVIDUALS PAGE CLEARLY HAS THEIR FACES ON IT AND MOST OF THE PEOPLE CAN BE SEEN IN THE GALLERY OR AT THE EXHIBITIONS THEY THEY HOLD?

I CAN SEE MANY ARTISTS WHO SELL PIECES…. INCLUDING MYSELF. THEY ADVERTISE ON THEIR OWN INDIVIDUAL ART PAGES. I KNOW I DO AND HAVE SEEN MANY OTHER ARTISTS DO THE SAME!

THIS BLOG SEEMS LIKE A GROUP OF BITTER PEOPLE THAT TOOK THE ADVISE OF ONE ANGRY PERSON IN THE FIRST PLACE. YOU WILL LET 1 OR 2 PEOPLES PERSPECTIVE DENY YOUR CAREER THE EXPOSURE. I THINK THE SMALL PRICE I PAID FOR THE AMOUNT OF EXPOSURE I GET IS NOTHING AND IF ANYONE SENDS ME A DM ASKING ABOUT MY EXPERIENCE THEY ONLY HEAR GREAT THINGS… MAYBE THATS WHY YOU HAVEN’T MENTIONED THIS ON HERE BECAUSE I GET MESSAGES FROM ARTISTS LIKE YOURSELVES DAILY. YOU WOULD THINK THESE PEOPLE HAVE ASKED YOU FOR HUNDREDS OF POUNDS, YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELF TALKING ABOUT INDIVIDUAL PEOPLE LIKE THIS AND IT WOULDN’T SURPRISE ME IF EAP REPORT THIS BLOG. YOU HAVE NOTHING FACTUAL IN YOUR ARGUMENT, ITS EMBARRASSING FOR US AS ARTISTS.

I agree- I have seen their exhibitions and met a couple of them & they are lovely people . yes you might have had a bad experience and you are entitled to that but it is all sounding very nasty- and how do us actual artists know who you are and if you are legit. You keep asking who we are but who are you and how do we know you’re not one person writing all these bad comments?

    • Anonymous

I don’t see this criticism being from only 1-2 people? It seems there are many many artists that are unsatisfied with the service or the lack of it. Not only are the reviews written on this platform but some others too.

People are entitled to their opinions. It is only natural that people write their experience and reviews online. Of course you will get angry people after you and bunch of negative feedback if your service isn’t what has been promised and what people have payed for. People also do get angry if their time has been wasted, not only for the “small amount” of money they have lost. It would be wise for the staff to learn from the feed back rather than fight and rage about it.

It isn’t a scam? Scam means dishonesty in the sense that for example a service isn’t what the buyer has been told to. There might be some sort of activities within the EAP but at least to me only advertising the company being “one of the leading specialists on the market” seems dishonesty from a company which has just recently been founded and which no one has ever heard of including many of the actual leading specialists. These kind of contradictions added with for example the information that has been shared in this forum does make the company look a bit shady.

And I must say, to me it looks very much like the staff is writing these nice reviews (including the angry one). 🙂

I think you are most likely one of the people behind the emerging artist platform. You say there is nothing factual? What about the message chain I included belownwithbhow rude and verbally abusive their employee was?

But all the artists are listed on their pages and website and you can have a video call with them? I don’t see how they can do that if they are fake? I might book one to talk to them and see

Im so glad Ive found this chat. They contacted me recently via instagram, looks good, thought id do a bit of research before jumpping in! dont think im going to be!

  • Anonymous

I paid the fee for me being advertised on their website but this never happened. Also, they stopped responding to my emails and messages and their chat is always offline. Seems like a scam to me.

    • Anonymous

I paid the fee and then all the interaction stopped. I emailed them two weeks after, asking what happened and didn’t get any answer. Until I paid they were very active I must say…I contacted my bank and reported the transaction as being a scam, got my money back and learned my lesson.

    Hi all,

Thank you for sharing your experiences. I’m not sure if I am the one who Jazz refers to on the chain above when saying:

“This is an artist that cancelled the delivery we payed €150’s for. She’s very bitter and twisted and has been on a rampage for some time now. She has caused so much inconvenience for the buyer and we have now cancelled the sale and refunded the buyer his money.”

If so, I want to clarify a few things. Not for me but for people who are reading this and maybe are considering to join the EAP.

First of all I never cancelled anything. That simply isn’t true. The actual truth is the opposite: I was trying to have them to organize the shipping but they totally failed to do that. Jazz or who ever she/he is, is making things up and taking actions that are, at least to me, very suspicious. If the whole thing isn’t a scam they apparently are not professionals at all.

Secondly The EAP ignored the messages that my collectors send to the EAP when they asked after their paintings they had purchased over a month ago. (The shipping is promised to be within 3-5 business days.) The only way the both of the buyers managed to get their money back was by contacting their own bank and credit card company and asked them to cancel the payment. The EAP has not returned their money voluntarily! I know this all because I happen to know both of these buyers personally. Their experience has been awful and they both think they have been scammed by the EAP and are obviously very upset. Luckily the collectors new this whole show wasn’t on me and our collaboration continues without the EAP.

As a conclusion I am not sure what is it with this whole company. All I can tell you on my side is that I am well established criminal attorney, I don’t make things up or appear “twisted” as Jazz has put it. Within the art scene I am just a regular person making art and trying to sell it as all the artists do. My advice is to stay away this whole thing. It isn’t what they tell you and there is clearly something very much wrong with it.

      Hi there

Thank you for sharing your experience with them. Do you by any chance have any suggestions of what I can do to make this more public? I believe I will not get my £29.99 back although my page wa alive only a day or 2 before i experienced the unprofessional service and verbal abuse from Jaz. I would simply like to make sure other artists do not get duped into this and also wnd up receiving unnecessary abuse from them.

      Many thanks

Maybe an (art) journalist would like to investigate this? A company established a year ago, minimum capital, claiming to be a leading specialist on the market with odd organization structure and multiple fake ids… Sounds curious and worth investigating for sure.

Thanks God I found this chat !

Jazz is a very disturbed and hateful woman. She seriously needs help! I would probably be on edge too if I had to keep up with all the lies, dual identities ( many different Instagram accounts with different pics and names however it’s all the same person) and running a scam operation. Also check out EAP staff….their Art Consultant, Matt Lautman is actually a wanna be actor ( check it out @matthewlautman1 on Instagram) . That’s got to make you feel comfortable knowing a struggling actor is checking out the artwork. No wonder no one is getting their artwork featured as this guy wouldn’t know the difference between an apple and an orange.
It’s all a sham and I cannot wait for the day when Jaded Jazz and her fraudulent team go down the drain and hopefully to jail too!

      • Anonymous

I have got the same impression that there are multiple Instagram identities but there is only one person behind them all. I have googled every staff member on the Hansford and Sons Fine Art and I can’t find anything on them. Not in LinkedIn or elsewhere what so ever. It simply doesn’t make sense to me. If there was only one person behind it all it would explain a lot.

        • Anonymous

Jade has a team of rats working for her. She is the ring leader and her trained puppets also have alias names. If you were running a clean operation why would you need false names and photos? Because EAP Is One Big Scam!,,
Shame on them for preying on emerging artists!

More of the conversation from Jazz at EAP and myself this morning

    Jazz to me

Ok Slick Rick. Let’s see where it gets you 😉

    Me to Jazz

You keep doing a great job. Take care

    Jazz to me
I DNT need to take care you do lol

    Me to Jazz

Jaz you seem to be a really mean person. I dont know why. There is to need to take it out on customers and people you dont know. I hope you can learn to be kind. All the best

    Jazz to me

I don’t like your attitude towards woman, I have mirrored the way you have spoken to me. You seem to I am below you sweetheart, like a piece of dirt underneath your shoe and I am certainly not. The issue is you have SOO much to say about something you haven’t even begun? You seem like a bitter and twisted man and it’s sickening. There are many things going on this world and negativity and your attempts to try and discredit hard work that you don’t even know if is good or not puts you in a really bitter light. DROP ME OUT!

    Me to Jazz

Ok Jaz. Like unsaid around 3 times already all the best. You have a good day and hopefully things get better for you

    Jazz to me

I’m doing fab Hun you needn’t worrry about me. Just sort yourself out… go down to Greenwich market and sell yourself 😉

    Me to jazz

Again you are just being spiteful. Bye Jaz.

    Jazz to me

Oh hun I don’t need to be spiteful. You are situated in Greenwich Market 😉

    Me to Jazz

Yes are you implying there something wrong with this? Let me remind you this entire chat is being shared online. I have reached put to multiple organisations and artists already. I dont really understand why you continue to be rude.

I will make sure to include in my posts that your company is well aware that I was bullied growing up and have mental illness (depression) this is all in my bio. And yet you as a representative of your company bully a mentally I’ll paying client

    • Anonymous

That is just unbelievable! I am sorry for your experience. What a mean person! I think it is very important that you share your experience so that people get to know what kind of people and organization they are dealing with. Shame on the EAP!

      • Anonymous

Very disturbing to read such conversation. What is this company anyway? There isn’t much of it online. And is this how the EAP wants to treat their clients? Is this how they want to present themselves to the public? There are so many artists signed up already…If I was the owner or the superior of the company I would apologize on behalf of the whole company and would give a strict warning to the person writing such things. I will share this information with my cooperation partners and ask if anyone knows more about it.

My page took around 6 weeks to get set up. When I was told it was live i checked under the artists featured and mine didnt appear. They told me that my page will appear when someone searches my name (unfortunately i am not famous). When I asked why I was not made aware of this before signing up and also sent the link to this page the employee I was dealing with missartcurator (Jazz) for very rude and defensive and said I had a chip on my shoulder and that she cod see I would be difficult to work with I asked for cancellation and a refund and she said I wont be getting a refund and my account will be cancelled with immediate effect

Here is the chain where she was incredibly rude and unprofessional

    Me to EAP
    Hi there

    I hope you are well?

I have been told by kelley_eap to contact you with my queries.

I was told by Kelley today that my page is now live on the site emergingartistplatform however looked I saw it is not under the featured artists section.

Kelley said you need to search by name and sometimes it will appear under that section as the artists are on rotation.

    Here are my queries

    1) why is this not mentioned when getting people to pay and sign up

    2) why are artists pages on rotation instead of always appearing under the featured artists section (no one will search my name to find my paintings as I am not famous)

    3) if this works in rotation when will my page appear under this section

    4) what promotional work will be happening to promote my paintings and when?

This has taken around 6 weeks to get my page set up and quite a few of my questions to Kelley have gone unanswered spin am hoping you can help

    Many thanks

    Missartcurator to me

1 & 2) We simply cannot feature every artist at the same time other you would be in a situation where you’ll never be seen this is why we rotate. You are not just in a “search your name” situation, your work will also come up under the categories relevant to you (ie: medium, country of origin etc). There are many different types of features so it isn’t just limited to one featured artist page. Therefore we do not need to tell you this because it is not relevant information.

    3) we will let you know when your page will be featured

    4) this is all explained to you when you had your initial email. Different opportunities arise at different times, it all really depends, this makes the “when” side of it hard to confirm

The questions you are asking cannot be answered head on because there are many different opportunities and chances of features and exhibitions. This is probably why Kelley found it hard to answer your questions and has directed you to me.
    All the best
    Jazz

    Me to Jazz

    Hi Jazz

Saying “we do not need to tell you this because it is not relevant information” is not a reasonable response. I have messaged you asking about it as I feel it is misleading for paying artists to not feature there and not be told how our work can even be found.

Another artist who uses tour platform was telling me about the poor service they received and forwarded me this link I would be interested to hear what you guys have to say about the comments there.

    https://howsmydealing.com/2020/07/20/the-emerging-artist-platform/

    Jazz to me

I feel as if I am under investigation by the police!

This is an artist that cancelled the delivery we payed €150’s for. She’s very bitter and twisted and has been on a rampage for some time now. She has caused so much inconvenience for the buyer and we have now cancelled the sale and refunded the buyer his money. I find it very bizarre that you are trying to find negatives rather than looking for positives. It’s very easy to navigate the site and I extremely unsure why you are searching for an answer to a question that is unveiling.

What more do you want from us? We have created your page, I have answered your questions… this isn’t the greatest foot to get started on really is it? Your attitude is very anti and to be honest I’m sensing that it will be very hard to work with you!

    Me to Jazz

Hi Jazz. Your answer is very rude and not professional at all. Please provide a full refund and I will be spreading the word in how poor and unprofessional this has been

    Me to Jazz

It took around 6 weeks to get my page set up with many mistakes along the way. I have asked many questions which simply were never answered. I also didnt look for negatives someone willingly sent me that link si of course I would ask your opinion as you are a representative of the company. Please supply confirmation of cancellation and full refund

    Jazz to me

Are you aware that you also have a responsibility to speak professionally? How would you know if our service is poor and unprofessional if you haven’t even had it yet? Your page has been created and hard work has gone into it, you will NOT be provided with a refund for this reason. Everything is in writing Ricky, so it’s quite evident that I have answered your questions and you have a chip on your shoulder. I will not be spoken down too, or ‘grilled’ over utterly ridiculous questions. Your subscription will be cancelled with immediate effect.

I will wish you the best of luck with your future

    Regards

    Me to Jazz

If you are not giving me a refund for those lack of service in will be taking legal action. I have not been rude to you or unprofessional it is you who has been rude and clearly has a chip and do not offer a service that you are paid to do. Please provide me with contact details of your manager or someone more senior/professional.

    Jazz to me

How would you know that? Off the back of someone else’s information? I am as high as it gets I’m afraid Rick. It’s very clear that we have provided you with a page with your artwork on and all of the paper trail to go with it. Unfortunately for this reason, you cannot get a refund of £29.99. Probably best to take it up with your legal advisor so that they can set you straight.

Best of luck with your career

    Me to Jazz

Hi Jas, how would I know what? If you are as high as it gets and I cannot get any further assistance within the company then I simply want my refund. Read through this chain and you will see you have been very rude and defensive when I have simply asked questions and supplied an article which was sent to me asking your opinion. Hopefully you can stop and think for a moment and realise this is not how people should treat eachother and I’m sure you as a customer never would accept this sort or response. Failure to provide me with a refund for the service which I paid will mean I will be reaching out so more people are aware of the treatment they can expect from this company. I wish you all the best with your career…

    Jazz to me

Your threats don’t concern me Ricky, because if you really take a step back and look at the answers I provided you with at day 4 of being live on the site… I think many people would see that your negativity has been influenced by someone else’s review (I note you keep referring to this article, which I have answered) but again I am not obligated to give you my opinion. I have many artists that are truly satisfied with the service we are providing, they are exhibiting, selling and gaining new exposure and clients. It’s a shame your small mindedness has prevented you from experiencing the same

    Me to Jazz

Jaz I will not be going back and forth anymore. I hope you have a pleasant evening and at some point calm down and take a step back and realise this isnt how you treat customers. I will be posting our conversation on an online forum. All the best

    Jazz to me

I’m so pleased because then people will have a really good insight. I’ll make sure I let all of our clients, investors and galleries know that it’s best to stay clear of yourself because your problematic.

  • Anonymous

I have an exhibition lined up with them in a couple months too and I have never had a problem with them? I am based in Sweden and have never had any issues with them. I was sceptical at first but booked a video call with them and they were great

  • Anonymous

In comparison to saatchi they’re far superior. A little slow with communication sometimes but I put this down to Covid-19. I have an show lined up in September in one of their galleries this costs me nothing but commissions. The exposure on their Instagram page brought me lots of DM’s and new interest. So far so good

  • Anonymous

I have actually had a really great experience with the Emerging Artist Platform, I have sold 3 works and the whole process was so easy and convenient. I am surprised that you have had this experience because they have always been so great to me!

  • Anonymous

I too have had problems with them. They are very difficult to get hold of. I sent an email via their website and have never received a reply (only an automated acknowledgement of receipt of my email). The telephone number on their website does not work and google brings up the number as a nuisance caller. The only way I got my page created was by pestering the 2 scouts who originally contacted me through Instagram, (even one of those ignored my request until I made a bigger fuss!) I did consider that maybe they are short staffed because of Covid19. The curator who set up my page advised me about getting more work put on my page, but the link he set up did not work because of a typo! I did manage to send my work but I am still waiting for my page to be updated!! I am loosing my patience and think I will cancel. At least it was not a lot of money to join, but is this how they make some of their money?

    • Anonymous

I think it is a scam. That’s how it seems. They just take the money and leave it there.

The Hansford and sons (company) has been found just a year ago or so. Their capital really is only 1 British pound! They don’t share their real address or phone number. The people who I have been communicated with (at the EAP) are either playing it or have absolutely no idea what they are doing. Don’t fall for this and don’t advise your collectors to buy from them. They will lose their money too.

      • Anonymous

Don’t go near this company! They are total scammers. They present a nice package and at a fair price but once they get your money, they don’t respond to you. Might as well flush your money down the toilet!
