Easton Art Gallereis

I reached out to Petrina Easton vias Linked In to see what she offers artists. I got an immediate reply- she is an art advisor and for $500 a year offers three shows, an online platform, etc… Has anyone had any experiences with her? I abhor “pay-to-play” schemes.

She contacted me on LinkedIn unsolicited. She said she likes my work and invited me to join the galleries. I looked at their web site and app very carefully. They seem to be trying to be like Saatchi or Fine Art America. But the site / app are both pretty clunky with function issues. She told me they have a reach of 27000 people. But I’m not sure it’s worth it, because the platform is weak. They also take a significant commission – 25% plus a 10% web sale commission, which looks like 35% total to me. I asked her to provide me the average artist sales per year through their site and haven’t heard back. I am not sure I’d call it a scam – but their online presence seems a little amateurish. I’m personally looking elsewhere.

I think (but do not know) it is the way they support the gallery. They contacted me on LI. They said, “we are reviewing your portfolio.” I sent a message back saying I was confused as I had not applied with them. Then a few weeks pass, she writes back again, “Okay, go to this link.” Send link to thing you mentioned. I wrote again, “I’m really confused. Again, I did not apply, why are you sending this link.” A few more weeks, another cryptic reply. I blocked her after that.
