Artisan Direct

An artist sent this in, any other comments? “Artisan Direct. Never deal with these people, especially Jayson Samuels. He’s an ex con who changed his name because he was convicted of fraud. You pay big time upfront for the exhibition, and the work might not even be displayed. After I asked for my work back, he lied and said he didn’t have it. I had to get a lawyer- the art came back but some pieces were damaged.”

I will never again donate art works, portfolios or anything else to White Box space in NYC..I gave a portfolio of recognized artist like Adrian Piper, Lorna Simpson, Leon Golub etc. to Juan Puntes, director of White Box to sell. He was to keep 50% of the sale as a donation to White Box art space and give me the balance. That was more than two years ago. Juan Puntes the director will not account for the portfolio or return it. He is evasive and has ruined my willingness to donation to other organizations. Beware of the fast talking non sensical Puntes. He will take advantage of one’s good intentions and suffer no remorse.

Wow. Looks like I was one of the lucky ones. I did show with Jason Samuels in New York, he did everything he said he was going to do and I did get payment for my sales. I was aware of his bad reputation, and it made me very nervous. But he gave me a good deal, and stood by everything he promised. Sorry to hear about everyone’s bad experiences, I would like to think he had been trying to redeem himself. If he has passed away, I am sorry. I hope everyone gets their work back.

May Jason Samuel RIP. It was a hurtful and very disappointing experience trying to do business with this man! I can only hope he, in Spirit, is learning from his past behaviors. Karma is real. It would certainly be wonderful to have the work that is still missing from my collection returned. I am hoping that whoever has my art work is enjoying it and shares it with others.

My dealings with this man were disappointing and hurtful. May he RIP and learn from his past behaviors. Karma is real. I would love to get back the artwork or payment for that which is still missing from my collection. I am not counting on it and just hope my work is delighting who ever has it.
