read moreI met Inigo Philbrick in the mid 2000s, at a Salon, which his ex landlord and ex boss had organized together. I remember when Inigo spoke, he described so vividly this image of three nuns by the sea (I think it was a painting he had seen), I can still recall the images he created with his description. Anyways. He was very young and, you could tell immediately that he was very bright. Over the following 3, 4 years I hang out with him semi-randomly. Meaning we’d exchange an email once in a while and maybe meet two, three, four…

read moreVan Der Plas gallery will ask you to submit then charge you a hanging fee of $120-$300+ per work depending on the size. This is in addition to the 50% commission. They did state that part of the fees are credited back to you if it sells but they dont appear to have much work selling. Besides if I pay you upfront there’s no incentive to sell after that. They do mention the fees upfront at least so there’s no time wasted applying if you don’t want to pay.
read moreHi, Im wondering if anyone has received an email from Artland – which claims to promote artists only on Instagram? Have you tried them out – are they any good – below is a copy of the email I received? These are uncertain times for everyone but one thing is certain: The art world has finally moved online for good. Whatever the new normal will look like, a digital presence will now be more important than ever, with Instagram still taking the pole position for artist discovery. I therefore wanted to follow up on my other email again to see…
read moreHello, I would like to tell you about my experiences with EAP. First of all, don’t do business with this company! I can only agree with the previous speakers. The contact and behavior is impeccable – until you pay the fee. Lauren contacted me at the beginning. Like you, I initially thought how good the offer of this gallery is. Especially in contrast to all the other galleries out there. After paying the fee, however, I was unable to reach Lauren. All of my emails and Instagram messages went unanswered. I also tried to contact the company through other emails.…

Here´s a long list of complaining artist about several problems. It takes weeks till your page is set up, mails aren´t answered and if so, very unfriendly blaming you to be the problem. You think you get featured on their “Featured” page, ending up dissapointed and with may excuses. People don´t get their money back. These people are total deceivers and their business manner is a disaster. Don´t fall into their trap due to your dream of making…
read moreFellow artists! I want to raise a huge red flag for Italian gallerist, Marco Antonio Patricio. I signed up with him to show my work at various art fairs in Italy. I sent him 5 paintings to exhibit. I asked him repeatadly for feedback and images from the fairs, but received none. I terminated our collaboration and asked him to return my paintings of which he sent 2 The remaining 3 are still in his possession and he is nowhere to be reached. All channels we used to communicate through are erased. I’ve later learned that he is wanted by…
read moreParallax art fair or PAF are VERY UNPROFESSIONAL and a real scam preying on young artists – google this fair and you will find so many complaining that there was no marketing, that they turned up to find no lighting and bad booths, that the team was completely unprofessional. Remember at an artist’s fair like this YOU are the client, they earn by taking your money, and do not have incentives to help you make money from your customers (visitors) therefore you really have to be 100% confident in the fair and do research them widely. I have been in…
