Dab Art Company has posted one of my photographs for sale for $600 without my knowledge or permission. To top that, they have stated on their website with my image that they can provide a Certificate of Authenticity for the work. Ha! This is a highly illegal operation. They obtained the work either by taking it off of Instagram or Facebook. This particular image is not on my website and has never been. Beware

Not really possible for a gallery to do that with Artsy because a screen shot wouldn’t have the required resolution. More likely you submitted an application and forgot. I try to keep a spreadsheet of all the places I inquire and submit to for avoiding confusion.

If the artist fills out the application, it is not yet a contract, so the gallery is not allowed to put anything up for sale or even use the images in marketing based on the application alone. Credible and reliable galleries would never claim that applications are valid contracts.
